There is some good news for anyone who’s worried about experiencing a problem when traveling with a pet. I’ll tell you about it in a minute.

If I had my way, everyone could keep smaller dogs on their laps during the flight. There are however a couple of issues that flair up:

Dogs sometimes snap at the flight attendant’s hand as they attempt to place something on their master’s tray (understandable under the circumstances) I’ll continue to take my chances, but it is not fair to the other flight attendants who are following the rules when one of my passengers says “Well, the other flight attendant let me keep my dog out the whole flight”

Sometimes dogs can just be annoying due to shedding and even farting (yes, I said it) or was that the owner blaming it on the dog?

Back to the good news. Sherpa, who manufactures all kinds of soft-sided dog carriers has partnered with American Airlines to introduce a new dog carrier that includes a guarantee that your pet will be given passage onto the aircraft. That’s right, no last-minute surprises at the gate.

All you do it purchase one of the approved pet carriers and fill out the form provided at Sherpa’s website and you’re good-to-go. Go here for all of the details. Then you simply carry the form with you as you travel and presto, you can show it to any airline official that give you a hard time. If for some reason you are not able to make the trip due to being denied travel (wither yourself or your pet), you will be refunded fully from Sherpa!
