Merged BA-Iberia takes off

A multi-billion-euro merger between British Airways (BABWF.PK – news) and Iberia (Madrid: IBLA.MC – news) of Spain, creating Europe (news) ‘s second biggest airline, was completed on Friday, the two companies announced.

“The merger has now become effective,” a statement said as shares in the new company, International Airline Group (IAG), prepare to trade for the first time on Monday.

British Airways: We’ve Got an App for That (OOPS!)

BA has an app that makes access to their website accessible to iPhones for road warriors who need up-to-the-minute information on all BA flight arrivals and departure times, customizable timetables, and the facility to book flights, manage itineraries and even check in on line and print out boarding passes while on the go.

BA Luxury Service JFK to London City Airport

 

There is a new luxury shortcut to London now that British Airways has launched their new service using A318 aircraft outfitted with 32 lie-flat beds and the latest inflight communication system OnAir. This system allows passengers to use their mobile phones and laptops to access the internet and send and receive email and text messages.
