This is the second in a series of websites that I am recommending that travelers try this summer.

If you’re one who likes to completely organize your travel and have your itineraries in one place, TripIt online travel and itinerary and trip planner is the site for you. All you have to do is go to the website, create an account, and you’re on your way! Trip planning couldn’t be easier, as you create your itineraries by simply forwarding your airline, hotel, and rental car confirmations to plans@tripit.com from a registered e-mail account.  TripIt also makes mobile apps for devices such as iPhone, BlackBerry, etc., so you can access all of your itineraries on the go.  You can share your itineraries with family, friends, and colleagues by e-mailing them a link to your itineraries, or by inviting them to connect to you on TripIt.  You can also connect your TripIt account to your social media profiles, such as Facebook.

For the more avid and frequent traveler, TripIt makes a Pro version, available by paying an annual fee.  The fee includes receiving automatic flight status alerts and the ability to add connections as part of an Inner Circle, so that each time you create a new trip, your Inner Circle is notified by e-mail about new itineraries, with a link to the trip details provided. TripIt Pro has exclusive travel discount offers as well.
