Tomorrow I am trying something I’ve never done. I’m flying with Fergie to New York with no room reservations and absolutely no idea where I’ll be staying.

I say, when in Portland, do as the Portlandians do, eat local and drink local and Bottles is just the place to do that. The knowledgeable staff can teach even a seasoned beer drinker a thing or two about beer and the chicken wings could possibly change your life (so eat with caution). Great beer, great food, great atmosphere. Bottles.

Getaways not only serve to recharge us and prevent burn out; they can become life changing events. More and more people are using vacations as a time to launch a new lifestyle.

This was my first visit to CityCenter in Las Vegas and I have found my new home whenever I visit. In fact, I could actually live here– just give me a reason! Actually, I’ve got reason enough.

Here are some of the places I’ve visited this week in Miami. If you’re headed to this sophisticated tropical paradise, I would highly suggest adding these spots to your itinerary.

In the evening, I had the pleasure of visiting the Inn at 202 Dover; a splendidly renovated Victorian-era 19th Century mansion.

Take it from me; if you want the upscale, boutique hotel experience with a friendly touch; the Kimpton Palomar Westwood is for you. The restaurant, BLVD 16 was also excellent and although we dined outside of the hotel once during our stay; we never left after giving this restaurant a try.

This fabulous luxury boutique hotel is bursting with personality from the newly-renovated rooms to the warm, cozy public spaces to the charming, attractive staff. Oh, and let’s not forget one of the main reasons we chose Vintage Plaza: it’s pet-friendly. We’re talking VERY pet friendly!

Yesterday in New York City was freezing cold.  In fact, I think I was the only one in NYC without a coat on.  Didn’t help that I’d left mine behind in Seattle the day before.  However, we had a blast walking around and enjoying everything the city had to offer.
