It’s fitting that Pan Am centers around a hurricane this week as the show seems to pick up speed. The first fifteen minutes read like a 70′s disaster film and I couldn’t be more thrilled. It’s exactly the white knuckled over the top excitement I was hoping for as the crew is forced to make an emergency landing in a closed airport because one of the passengers who is making his first flight is having a heart attack.

I almost did a cartwheel when Cristina Ricci announced on ABC’s “The View” that Pan AM had debuted in Sweden to the highest ratings ever. I knew I could count on my Swedish brethren! “Man berömmer för att bli berömd igen.”

In my humble opinion, ABC’s Pan AM is one of the best shows on tv. I had my fears in the beginning that it may be more style over substance- not that there’s anything wrong with that.

As we all think back to glamorous flights between the United States and Europe on board the Boeing 707 jets, we must remember what it took to get there. Pan American led the way when it came to long distance transatlantic passenger flights when in 1939 it flew its Dixie Clipper on the southern route from Port Washington, New York to Marseilles, France with stops in Horta (Azores) and Lisbon, Portugal. This would have been the perfect opportunity for Portugal [...]

I love to fly and it shows. Sure, that’s not the tag line for Pan Am, but I never said it was. I came to fly. Admittedly, my expectations for ABC’s new drama, Pan Am, were to the moon, richly due to the casting of Christina Ricci (whom never fails to interest me). Throw in a concept where women are flying sex dolls with a weight requirement and 3-inch “stow me” pumps and count me in.
As a [...]

Why not? Handily adjacent to Brooklyn’s Steiner Studios lot is a cavernous storage shed now used for housing a key component of ABC’s new series, “Pan Am”: the jet plane.

News from the set describes Christina Ricci as the perfectly poised and sophisticated Pan Am hostess of the day. Insiders viewing the pilot episodes found her signature sexy edge adds just the right amount of retro fantasy to each and every one of her scenes; which is sure to cause quite a few take-offs.
