I used to come back from every trans-Atlantic flight with a cold. I heard the same easy fix and haven't had a cold since. USE A COTTON SWAB to carefully line the opening to nostrils (on the inside, of course). I do it before I leave the house so I can see what I am doing.I also observe other healthy habits such as keeping my hands away from my face, drinking lots of fluids, and keeping hand sanitizer in my purse to use if I touch a questionable surface.
