Froder is a white (well, he used to be white) mechanical dog that my daughter Susan received at Christmas 1991.  (No, that isn’t Froder in the photo at left, but what a cute pup, huh?) I remember her cradling him in her small arms and announcing, misty eyed,

“I love this little guy.”

When we went to Britain that summer Froder came along. Somewhere – I promise to publish them when I find which box they are in – we have photos of Froder enjoying his travels: the food counter at Fortnum and Mason, at the Tattoo at Edinburgh Castle, on the Pleasure Pier at Brighton Beach.

Imagine my delight when I came across “Toy Traveling – Travel Agency for Teddy bears and cuddly toys.”

Based in Czech Republic this company invites your favorite stuffed toy to have a vacation in Prague. They will chronicle your friend’s adventures in photographs, and will send home with your plush pal a selection of souvenirs. A list of possible events includes sightseeing, group outings and even wellness therapy. My favorite quote from the site:

We are tolerant and unbiased. We will be happy to welcome all kinds of your toys regardless nationality, race, religion, sexual preferences, age or handicaps. We travel in an environmentally friendly way.

Tempted to send your favorite plushy on the trip of a lifetime? Prices range from 90 – 150€ (approx $120 – $200 US)  For the price you will receive packages that include a basic package of 30 photographs, a certificate of travel completion, Facebook and Twitter profiles, and daily emails. The top-of-the line package also includes many more photographs (print as well as on CD), a photo album, aroma therapy, massage and a special mailing box.

Hmmmm. I wonder if Froder still has wanderlust?

If your favorite stuffed buddy goes on a vacation with this company, send us an update! We will share the adventures here! And we want to know — how was the Jetiquette on the journey?
