Jetiquette Tip: Do not wear clothing laced with profanity

Another unfortunate Jetiquette fail; this time in Chicago. Mike Bahari, a robotics engineer was on his way from New York to his home in Oklahoma City.

He missed his connection (I am sure there is a story there too) and was forced to spend the night in Chicago without his luggage. The t-shirt he was wearing bore the fashionable phrase” “F*** you, you F***ing f***.”  We are so happy that he did not risk having this gem of a shirt stolen by placing it in his checked luggage! Oh, BTW, this shirt was one he picked up while on a Carnival Cruise stop in Key West. It’s all making sense to me now and I see a pattern here.

Delta Airlines had allowed Mr. Bahari to board their flight without a hitch but when he was rebooked on American Airlines, things changed for him. The astute gate agent made the judgement call to deny him boarding. Although he eventually turned the shirt inside out, he was still denied boarding. I have a feeling his attitude may have gone south while he stayed north that day without a plane ticket.

Mr. Bahari still does not understand why he was removed from the flight since he claims the shirt did not offend anyone. He added that he would not continue to wear the shirt once his two-year old daughter learns to read. I suspect, she’ll be speaking those words before then.
