On this leg of the Jetiquette Tour, I visited Annapolis, Maryland! My friend Debbie has just relocated to this naval town that also serves as the capitol of Maryland. As excited as I was to be reunited with my friend, who

Crab Cakes at the Boatyard in Annapolis

had recently moved away from Miami after being my neighbor for 12 years, it did not take long for my thoughts to turn to one of Maryland’s most precious resources. Maryland crabs are known the world over for their taste and texture and the people of Maryland have perfected the art of preparing and serving hard-shell crabs.

I decided to do an impromptu launch of “Crab Quest 2011″, but I needed Debbie’s help. She could see the look of desperation and hunger on my face, but she took less than a second to come up with just the place. We arrived at The Boatyard for an early dinner. After getting a tiny bit of “attitude” from the bearded host, we were enjoying a glass of wine and the first crab-dish of my Maryland tour-stop. All I can say was I would have endured any amount of attitude to taste the Blue Crab Dip that was served to us with our Chardonnay! Amazing!

Here is what I feasted on and I would highly recommend it:

Hot Blue Crab Dip
Lump blue crab with Parmesan cheese, artichoke hearts, spinach and onions baked to a golden brown and served with baguette slices

Crab Cake Dinner
Two pan seared lump crab cakes served with our house made Tartar sauce, fresh vegetables, and mashed potatoes (which are amazing!!!!!)

Next stop: After dinner cocktails!
