Do you “connect” with some airports better than others?

Whether you are making a connection or traveling to or from any of the “Top 50 Airports” in the United States, you may want to refer to our chart for links to terminal shopping and dining, wireless internet information & terminal maps.

Airports that have created an exceptional customer experience have been designated with the Jetiquette® symbol. The Jetiquette® designation is given to those airports based on criteria including: terminal facilities, public spaces, internet access, shopping and dining options, pet facilities, ease of connections (moving sidewalks, people-movers), airport website, information desks and ambassadors, airport’s unique personality, and more. One airport mentioned as a favorite by a frequent flier friend, Jason Feger, was Charlotte Douglas International Airport which has provided rocking chairs for passengers to enjoy; now that’s personality!

One of my favorites:

Washington Reagan National Airport- “Gorgeous terminal, lots of shops (I love the Smithsonian store) and restaurants (my favorite is a cafe in the main terminal is the Cibo Bistro and Wine Bar). If you have time, visit the historic Terminal A which also has a very interesting museum.

Two of the airports at the bottom of our list worth mentioning were Miami International and Santa Ana/Orange County. Miami’s terminal required long walks for connecting passengers and limited or hard to find dining choices. John Wayne/Orange County Airport in Santa Ana, California has an overcrowded terminal with limited food choices and overpriced internet access.

Miami International is making drastic improvements that will improve the experience dramatically as they install new people mover trains within the American Airlines “super-concourse” and also linking the main terminal with car rental and public transportation at the new Inter-Modal complex.

Have your own to add?

Feel free to comment on your favorite or least-favorite airports. Airports with Jetiquette® are recognized each January based on information gathered during the previous year and the opinions of our readers, based on their experiences, greatly influences the results.
