Headed to Miami International Airport? Once you’ve found the best flights to Miami…plan how you’ll make the most of your airport time.

SHULA’S BAR & GRILL

Why?

  • Good Food on the Upscale Side
  • Friendly Service
  • Fun Atmosphere

Shula’s Bar & Grill is a new concept created by the Shula Family of restaurants. Named in honor of legendary Hall of Fame Coach Don Shula, Shula’s Bar and Grill at the Airport combines mouth watering hamburgers, signature appetizers, cocktails and wines offered in a comfortable yet energetic environment. This concept was made especially for Airports and creates a new modern energy space where you can count on getting great food from a legendary restaurant brand. The restaurant has an all-day menu which includes breakfast, lunch and dinner. Here is their menu, so that you can plan ahead.Incidentally, I found out that there is a new chain being launched by the Shula’s called Shula Burger! Get ready belly!

BEAUDEVIN

Why?

  • Amazing Wine List
  • Elegant
  • Light International Menu

You’ve already heard us talk about Beaudevin as it is one of our stops in the morning, afternoon and evening which allows us to easily contribute to the MIA economy. Until just other day I had not eaten there because, honestly,  I could not manage to get my eyes beyond the wine list. If you are interested in something on the lighter side and a bit more sophisticated with more of an emphasis on the wine, this would so be the place for you. I ordered the Capicola & Mozzarella open-faced sandwich with shaved parmesan, cornichon, fresh basil, olive oil on artisan bread. See the menu for Beaudevin and plan on ordering something to share for the table as well if you are very hungry.

ADMIRALS CLUB

Why?

  • Exclusive
  • Great for Delays
  • Free Beer, Wine and Internet
  • Take a Shower

Why am I bothering to mention something about an airline club? Well, since the Admirals Club started offering complimentary beer, wine and internet access for members it has become a bit more of a value. If you are not a civilized traveler, please pass over this section as peace and quiet are also a major benefit of the club. Have I mentioned that I just discovered the beauty of enjoying cocktails while traveling in the last 10 years? What was I doing before?

To me, sipping beer and wine, in moderation of course, makes travel so much more civilized and allows me to tolerate so much more as I travel around on The Jetiquette Campaign. The Admirals Club is truly an oasis and I especially love the club located at Gate D-30. You’ll feel as if you’ve just touched down in the Emerald City with its very interesting interior that includes green marble and everything else emerald too. There’s lots of space and quiet hiding places and if you do the math, you’ll quickly agree it’s well worth the annual fee. This is for you if you fly often and plan on enjoying a cocktail and internet access before and between flights in the MIA club and any other of the more than 40 locations. Of course if you are someone who always cuts it close when catching flights, save the money to apply to cocktails in the concourse.

Duty Free Americas

Why?

  • Because!
  • Many More Brands
  • Lot’s of Locations
  • Great Prices Even When Flying Domestic in Many Cases

Going international? Don’t miss out on one of the best pastimes of all; the great duty free at MIA. Unfortunately Duty Free Americas has not taken the prudent extra steps to allow domestic passengers to make certain allowable purchases, paying the required taxes of course. Imagine the shopping domestic passengers could be doing and all the extra revenue DFA could be bringing in, but you can’t tell them anything; oh how I’ve tried.

People Watching

People watching at the airport is so much more fun with a glass of wine

Of course, if all else fails…you can take a break and watch the people after riding the new train, enjoying the delicious food, dropping from shopping and sipping cocktails for hours. Miami Airport is sure to provide the ultimate in human entertainment from celebrity sightings to Ripley’s Believe it or Not!
