Ashok Roy, MD,MPH,MBADr. Ashok Roy grew up in Southern California, but he is a true citizen of the world.  To say he  is a “frequent flier” is an understatement.  He maintains the highest level elite frequent flier status by his extensive world travel.  He is a physician (M.D. USC; M.P.H., Johns Hopkins, M.B.A., MIT Sloan), health care consultant and currently lives in Washington, DC while also working in Boston.  (He is also an expert in commuting!)

Dr. Roy is one of a very few Americans to have visited North Korea as a tourist in the past few years.  He recently completed visits to “the -stans” (countries that end with -stan, as in Uzbekistan).  He has traveled all over Asia, and even took cooking lessons at the Bangkok airport.  He is somewhat of an expert on travel to and in India since he visits family there frequently.  He has first-hand experience with “around the world” tickets.  In short — if you have questions about travel, Dr. Roy is your resource!

Dr. Roy plans and arranges all of his travel and itineraries on his own.  On our upcoming show Monday, December 14, 2009 at 1 PM EST (and available archived in our podcast section) he will share his tips on how to save money by  making your own travel plans.  Have paper and pen ready to copy down his advice and the addresses of his favorite travel planning websites.  And be ready to call in to ask him your own travel questions!
