Your Cost-Effective Apartment-Hotel

Miami’s Mutiny Hotel in Coconut Grove, Florida is strategically located to provide you with a home-away-from-home base for all that south Florida has to offer. The Mutiny offers one- and two-bedroom apartment suites that are fully equipped with a full-size refrigerator, oven, sink and microwave. The convenient, though small, dishwasher makes clean-up of the porcelain dishes a breeze. There’s also a mini coffee maker, ice bucket, wine opener, flatware & stemware.

The suites are decorated in a British colonial style with rich hardwood furnishings and warm, cheerful wall colors. Marble floors in the kitchen & separate living area lead to new carpet in the bedroom, which hosts a comfy bed, two large closets, a tall dresser and a flat-screen TV. The living area is capped-off with a private balcony, desk & dining table. The sofa converts to a queen-size sleeper sofa.

The pool area is fabulous!  Don’t miss dining outside on the teak furniture:  lovely cocktail by the pool, lite snack (though the menu is full), and swooners like Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett make for a swell time.  There’s also plenty of shade at the pool area, thanks to the lush tropical landscaping – perfect for shielding that hot Miami sun.  Want more relaxation?  Sit near the waterfall.

Clean air is a top priority at The Mutiny.  They are a non-smoking hotel.  And, as an added initiative, they installed High Efficiency Particulate Air filters (HEPA) to help you breathe easier and wake up refreshed.  Energy conservation is supported by energy-efficient fluorescent lighting throughout the hotel, including the guest rooms.

Tips to get the most out of your stay at The Mutiny Hotel

The Mutiny Hotel is located on the bay-front in such a charming little village that you’ll want for nothing. Right around the corner is CoCo Walk, one of the best locations in south Florida for shopping & dining. Two of my favorites: Palm Produce Resort Wear and Lulu’s restaurant.  If you’d like to do a bit of grocery shopping to take full advantage of the kitchen in your suite, take a quick walk to The Fresh Market.
Cooking not your thing (don’t worry – I only used the refrigerator in my suite for chilling champagne & wine)?  Then you absolutely MUST visit the in-house restaurant, Atchana’s East/West Kitchen.  Though small in appearance, this kitchen cooks up fantastic fare at a surprisingly reasonable price (my breakfast was half the cost of other area hotels!).  From the fresh, lite Spring Rolls to the fiery Volcano Shrimp – you’ll be satisfied and happy. Atchana is Bangkok-born and an amazing cook; very charming, too.  Most of her recipes are her Mom’s; she’s added modern touches to them.  If you leave The Mutiny without dining at Atchana’s East/West Kitchen, you’ll be missing out big time.
WiFi Internet is free in the restaurant, the lobby & at the pool.  Unfortunately, it is fee-based in your suite.  Don’t tell anyone, but you can use a nearby signal while in your room – worked like a charm for me.  Shhhh, it’s our little secret.
Ask for a room on one of the top floors for a great view and reduced street noise.
